Urban Espresso was formed in direct response to market demand, to meet the need for a fresh approach to in-house refreshment offerings.

Coffee experts
Although relatively new, we are not new to the business. Dominic Boyett, Urban Espresso’s founder and Managing Director, is steeped in the coffee business and the delivery of quality solutions to the corporate market.

Dominic set up his own successful coffee roasting business in Scotland in the early 1990s before moving to London to work for Segafredo Zanetti, developing their range of espresso coffees, and becoming Sales & Marketing Director for all UK activities.  

Following the acquisition by Segafredo of Puccino’s Ltd (a coffee chain with 130 retail locations) Dominic managed the introduction of the first Segafredo Zanetti commercial site, and all six subsequent sites opened in London during 2004/5. After 8 years with Segafredo, in 2005 Dominic decided that the in-house refreshment market was crying out for a fresh new player and Urban Espresso was born.

Marco Giambastiani is Urban Espresso’s Roastmaster. Marco and his team look after the Glasgow roastery. The roastery team has over 35 years of combined coffee roasting experience, and a passion for creating only the finest gourmet coffees that are a core part of our offering. This has enabled us to masterfully create a completely unique range of Fairtrade coffees that are unrivalled in both quality and taste. With Marco's wealth of knowledge from within the industry we’ve been able to extensively research and carefully select farmers from all over the world who produce and provide us with the most exceptional Arabica coffee beans available today. It is Marco’s responsibility to continually create new and exciting Fairtrade blends that keep that air of excitement when it comes to coffee time with Urban Espresso.

Our customers come first

Paul Bowder, our Commercial Director, looks after customer support, service and operations, including our vendor finance contacts that offer our clients a range of ways to pay for our services. Trained in the banking industry, Paul has extensive experience of complex project management and delivering quality service. Over the last few years he has been run a number of dynamically developing businesses across a host of industry sectors.

Roy Morris, our Executive Chairman, has had a long and successful career in financial services, culminating in board membership of Allied Dunbar Financial Advisors Ltd., part of Zurich Financial Services, with over 2,000 people reporting through to him.

In 2002 Roy retired from financial services and joined FishWorks plc helping to build the group from 1 outlet to 12 and the successful placing of the company’s shares onto the AIM Market.

Roy’s career has been particularly focused on sales, marketing, servicing of customers, branding, and building systems and processes to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the highest quality products and services.

Together with Dominic and Paul, Roy is committed to Urban Espresso's mission to be "the UK's leading coffee break expert", with an absolute passion and enthusiasm for quality coffee, combined with a genuine and guaranteed level of service to customers.
